Prince Charming is the latest Disney character set for his own live-action fairy tale.
Disney has reportedly obtained a script from screenwriter, Matt Fogel. David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and Tripp Vinson will produce the reinvented fairytale.
Details of the script’s plot are being kept quiet for now, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be along the same lines as 2014’s Maleficent, which starred Angelina Jolie as a three-dimensional depiction of the villain from Sleeping Beauty.
Disney have also enjoyed success with director Kenneth Branagh’s recent update of Cinderella, which featured Game of Thrones’ actor Richard Madden in the role of Charming, opposite Lily James as the title character.
Disney have a slew of live-action fairy tales coming out, including Dumbo, Mulan, Pete’s Dragon, Cruella and Winnie the Pooh.
Currently in production is Bill Condon’s live action remake of Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens in the lead roles.
