Taylor Swift invited an unexpectedly star-studded line up to the latest leg of her 1989 World Tour in New York City on Friday night (10th July).

First to the stage was the triumphant US Women’s World Cup team, who came out to thousands of cheering fans at the MetLife Stadium last night. Hot from their resounding win against Japan in the World Cup Final on Sunday, the team came out as Swift performed the song ‘Style’  – with the players walking down a specially constructed runway.

The team brought the Women’s world cup with them and let Swift hold it as she sang. The singer then started to encourage the team to take a bow in front of the New York crowd. Fox Sports also reported that the audience chanted “U.S.A” as the team left the stage.

Later on in the show, Swift announced that she was “going to bring the ‘Bad Blood’ video to life,” before being joined onstage by several of her ‘Bad Blood’ cameo stars, including Lena Dunham, Hailee Steinfeld, Gigi Hadid and Lily Aldridge.

The final guest of the night was The Weeknd – who sky rocketed to fame after releasing two tracks on the outstandingly successful Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. The Weeknd performed his new single ‘I Can’t Feel My Face’ alongside Swift.

Swift is renowned for bringing multiple stars and surprises to her shows, with Serena Williams and Cara Delevingne appearing in her performance at The British Summertime Festival in Hyde Park earlier this month.
