Originally released in its native Japan in 2012, Yakuza 5 is finally making its Western debut in Europe and North America this year.
Available for download via the Playstation network, gamers will be able to purchase the game with a 15% discount off the £29.99 launch price, for a limited period. The promotion is partly down to the title being one of the most requested games in PlayStation’s #Buildingthelist campaign. The twitter led campaign was established for this reason, to decide which games would get published, based upon the amount of requests received from the public.
Yakuza 5 is an open-world action adventure game which allows players to control five interconnected protagonists as they explore the seedy Japanese underworld. It features more mini-games than previous entries in the series, as well as a modified battle system.
In addition to these features, the cities will also be significantly bigger than previous games, providing more areas to explore in a move likened to the iconic Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
It is unclear exactly when Yakuza 5 will be available to download, but it is expected to arrive at some point later this year. Watch the announcement trailer below.
