Jake Gyllenhaal stars in trailer for Demolition – watch

Jake Gyllenhaal stars in the new trailer for Festival-favourite, Demolition.

Directed by Jean Marc Vallée (the filmmaker behind Dallas Buyers Club and Wild), this cathartic independent drama follows the story of a recently widowed husband called Davis, who tries to rebuild his life by taking his house apart.

The journey Davis goes on as he begins demolition on his home (wherein all the memories of his wife lie dormant) is wryly documented in an oddly inspiring complaint to a vending machine company that, as we can see in the trailer, robbed him of some M&M’s.

Demolition is set to be the opening film of the prestigious Toronto Film Festival, which begins on Thursday 10th September. Also starring Naomi Watts, Chris Cooper and Judah Lewis, the film has also been tipped as a strong contender for next year’s awards season.

Demolition opens in the US on 8th April 2016. A UK release date has yet to be announced. Watch the trailer below.
