The University of Southampton Student Film Festival is now a multi-award winning event, having won the award for Best Cross-Collaboration of the Year at tonight’s Excellence in Volunteering Awards.

Sponsored by The Edge, in association with Wessex Films, the first Student Film Festival took place in March and celebrated the excellent film-making talents of Soton’s young amateur film-makers. The idea was impressively championed by our very own Film Editor Ben Robins and 2015-16 Wessex Films President, Pippa Short.

Speaking of the win, The Edge Editor, Natalie Fordham said: “When Ben came to me with the idea of a film festival, part of me thought it was just a pipe dream, but as ever our team have proved that with great collaboration and hard work, The Edge has no limits!”

The Film Festival also recently won Best Event at SUSU’s Media Ball and plans are already underway to make next year’s festival even better!

Congratulations to Ben, Pippa and everyone else involved!
