Donald Glover joins Spider-Man: Homecoming


Community actor Donald Glover has joined the cast of Spider-Man:Homecoming.

He will be starring alongside the titular hero played by Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr., who will be reprising his role as Iron Man. In addition, Marisa Tomei will be playing Aunt May, again reprising her role from Captain America: Civil War. However, plot details regarding Glover’s role in the film are currently top secret. Among other currently secret roles in the film also include Disney star Zendaya.

Glover recently appeared in the Oscar-nominated film The Martian alongside Matt Damon, but is better known for his role as Troy Barnes in the aforementioned sitcom – a role which he played for 89 episodes. Glover also previously voiced Miles Morales in the animated Ultimate Spider Man series.

Kevin Feige is producing the film, alongside Amy Pascal, while Jon Watts is directing the Sony reboot of the popular franchise. Production is expected to start soon, with a cinema release for Spider-Man: Homecoming slated for 7th July 2017.
