Game of Thrones Season Seven premiere date confirmed

The premiere date for the seventh series of the popular HBO fantasy drama Game of Thrones has been confirmed. The show will return on 16th July 2017.

The news follows the recent reveal of the first poster for the seventh series of Thrones, which teased the upcoming battle between the Knight’s Army and Daenerys Targaryen’s army of dragons.

Accompanying today’s reveal was a brief slogan which presumably will act as the tagline for the series: ‘Fear Is For The Winter.’ The date was confirmed via a Facebook Live Event which involved an elaborate melting of a large square ice-block using comment interaction.

The seventh series of Game of Thrones ended with Ramsay Bolton having been brutally beaten and taken prisoner by the revived Jon Snow, while Daenerys seized control of the Dothraki having slain Khal Moro. Following this, she commenced her return to Westeros determined to take power from Cersei, who had been crowned the new Monarch of the Seven Kingdoms.

Game of Thrones series seven will begin on 16th July 2017 on HBO. Check out a round-up for the show so far below:
