'Heart of a Dog' is enjoyable, but doesn't stand out in The Kills' back catalogue.

Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince, a.k.a. The Kills, are back with their lates single, ‘Heart of a Dog’. It acts as a follow up to their previously released single ‘Doing It To Death’, both of which are scheduled to appear on their fifth studio album, Ash & Ice, which will be released on 3rd June 2016. Having already tested ‘Heart of a Dog’ on the live circuit, the indie rock duo are already getting their fans excited for their June release.

The track opens with Hince’s signature driving guitar lines and a steady drum beat. Mosshart’s distinctive vocals repeat the lyrics, “I’m loyal, oh oh, I’ve got the heart of a dog”, which will have you singing along within one listen. The track is an enjoyable listen, but it does not really stand out amongst their impressive back catalogue.

If you take the time to give ‘Heart of a Dog’ a listen, it is worth watching the accompanying playful music video as well, which takes the track to a whole new level.

‘Heart of a Dog’ is out now via Domino Records.
