Cougar Town renewed for its final season

Cougar Town has officially been renewed for its sixth, and final, ever season.

The US sitcom will continue for 13 more episodes in this upcoming season, before bringing the comedy, which began in 2009, to a close.

The sitcom, which famously stars Courtney Cox, tells the story of a recently-divorced woman in her 40s, who experiences the highs and the lows of this new chapter in her life.

After three seasons, the show’s future was in jeopardy in the hands of ABC, who had decided not to bring the show back after 2012. However, Cougar Town was saved by TBC in a largely publicised network-swap. The sitcom now averages on just over two million viewers, securing a place in TBC’s top ten comedies.
