Ubisoft have released a new story trailer for their highly anticipated shooter Far Cry 4.
It was already known that the game would follow Ajay Ghale as he returned to Kyrat only to come face-to-face with fearsome dictator Pagan Min, but this new trailer introduces the land of Kyrat and how Ajay became involved.
High up in the Himalayas, Ajay has returned to scatter his mother’s ashes in the remote location called Kyrat. However, the beautiful location has been decimated by a civil war that is taking place between Pagan Min and the Golden Path. Ajay’s past is rooted in Kyrat more than he initially realised and his actions soon have an important impact on the war and Kyrat itself.
The trailer also makes it clear that the franchise’s signature stunning landscapes, fast gun-play and varied wildlife all return for the fourth game. However, unlike previous iterations, there is certainly more variety. Snowy mountains featuring wolves and large open fields populated with tigers, elephants and eagles are only some of the features players are certain to encounter.
Vaas, the crazy murderer, was one of the main strengths of Far Cry 3 and it seems as if Ubisoft have once again created a compelling villain in Pagan Min. Although the narratives do not link, Far Cry 4‘s plot does seem to be similar to that of 2012’s game. Not that this is a bad thing as it is clear that Far Cry 4 will expand on what made Far Cry 3 so popular, whilst taking place in a larger and more detailed world.
Far Cry 4 is released worldwide on 18th November and will be available on Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
