This week marks the start of exams, so we’re giving you just two opportunities to procrastinate and chill out from them this week! With our final Audience Choice of the year on Saturday under the Noir genre (read on to find out what has won!) and then A Good Day to Die Hard on Sunday.
Saturday 25th May at 7pm: Audience Choice:
Beating Drive and The Third Man, Saturday we’ll be showing Memento. Christopher Nolan’s cult thriller about a man suffering from short-term memory loss, who uses notes and tattoos to hunt for the man he thinks killed his wife. If you don’t fancy completely switching your brain box off, come and see Memento to keep it ticking over and (most importantly) keep up with the plot and its twists and turns.
Sunday 26th May at 8pm: A Good Day to Die Hard:
Bruce is back as John McClane and he finds himself on foreign soil after trying to help out his wayward son Jack. Unaware that Jack can more than handle himself since he’s a trained CIA operative now, out in Russia to stop a nuclear weapons heist. Together, father and son are unstoppable heroes but the Russian underworld won’t give up without a fight. Guns and blazes of glory await you on Sunday if you come down to see this film!
That’s it for this week, quite a modest selection but still two truly brilliant films! It will be much of the same next week with a reduced line-up but we still have some tricks up our sleeves to keep you interested through exams and beyond.
PS: Good luck with exams from the Union Films minions!!
