As semester one comes to a close here in Southampton, we at Union Films have a great selection of films to help get you into that Christmas spirit. Starting with the fantastic The Maze Runner, followed by The Rocket and our Christmas showing: Love Actually! Be sure to come down and make the most of this final week of showings for 2014!
The Maze Runner, Tuesday 9th December at 7pm
We start our week off with The Maze Runner, an adaptation of the 2009 book of the same name. In this we see Thomas, a boy who wakes up in a mysterious maze, having lost all memory apart from his name. He must adjust to the new society he finds himself in, as well as search for the exit to the mysterious maze…
This acclaimed film will be one to help lift you out of that Hunger Games withdrawal, promising to be the start to the next big young adult film franchise. If you’re a fan of dystopia, this is the film for you to watch this week.
The Rocket, Wednesday 10th December at 7:30pm
Our final Phoenix film of the year is 2013’s The Rocket. Set in Laos we see the tale of Ahlo, a supposedly cursed child, after the destruction of his village. Struggling with the stigma of the curse, Ahlo finds a way he might redeem himself, by reaching the clouds.
This coming-of-age film is a touching, fresh experience that is sure to satisfy all who watch it.
Love Actually, Thursday 11th December 7:00pm
