Preview: Arctic Monkeys, Roundhouse (9/9/2013)

The iTunes festival is not your average festival. Its essentially the world’s biggest game of lucky dip, which perhaps is what makes it so appealing. Running since 2007, the iTunes festival has had its fair share of global superstars playing at the hosting venue of London’s very own Roundhouse.

All you have to do to win tickets is download the iTunes festival app then sit back and wait for the gods of music to decide your fate. I’m not necessarily renowned for my luck but this month the tables seem to have turned for me. In an inexplicable twist of fate I find myself in possession of perhaps the most precious things to ever fall into my grubby hands. That’s right, I’ve won tickets to see Arctic Monkeys perform of Monday 9th September.

Arctic Monkeys are set to release their fifth album AM on 10th September, making their slot at iTunes festival the perfect introduction to this hotly anticipated new offering from the boys. Judging by the releases of ‘Do I Wanna Know’, ‘Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High’ and ‘R U Mine’ I’m expecting sultry guitar riffs a plenty, stomping drum beats and falsetto harmonies a plenty.

The iTunes festival runs throughout September and includes artists such as, Justin Timberlake, Queens of the Stone Age, Pixies, Elton John and many more. All performances are available to stream live. Don’t miss out on your chance to win tickets!

Hi I'm Grace I risk sounding disgustingly cliched but I cannot remember a time when music wasn't part of my life. I love going to gigs and have been known to dabble in a bit of gigging and song writing myself.
