Boadmasters is a music festival that takes place in the cornish town of newport from the 6th-10th of August. Both a music festival and a extreme sports festival, people travel from accross the country to the coasts of cornwall for one of the events of the summer.
With a muscial line-up that includes massive acts such as Chase and Status, Snoop Dog, Bastille, Wilkinson, Zane Lowe, Duke Dumont and Shy Fx as well as acts for those with a non-mainstream music taste such emerging talents Dan Croll, Bipolar Sunshine and 2manydjs and old favourites The Cribs and The Enemy. With a heavy DJ influence and many popular bands, there is something for everyone at this beach centred festival. With such an eclectic mix of names, many with a massive reputation, there is no way this festival is going to disappoint. Headliners and acts as strong as these would be enough to sell out any music festival, however this is not the only string to the Boadmasters bow.
An international surf festival takes part during the day, and many revelers take to the beach to lie in the sun and get rid of those heavy heads in preparation for the following night. Surfing, BMX and skatboarding all take place as well as music on the beach and many other things going on; you are not going to be simply hanging around for the evening’s activities at this music festival.
Relaxing in the sun (well we hope its going to be sunny but we all know what the english summer can be like) with a drink in one hand, an ice-cream in the other watching world class sport with great entertainment in the evening. Is there truely a better way to spend a weekend in Britain this summer? I think not.
