The Rifles will play The Brook in Southampton on Wednesday May 7th as part of their “None the wiser tour”, in support of the bands fourth album. The record was released on January 20th and achieved a record high in the album charts for the band (21st). Additionally, this record saw the return of original members Grant Marsh and Rob Pyne who had left the band before the third record Freedom Run. The Rifles hit Southampton towards the end of their UK tour before heading out across the country again to play multiple festivals including V festival and Tramlines.
The Rifles have gained a reputation of a reliably entertaining band with a well varied catalogue of indie anthems such as ‘Romeo and Julie’ and ‘Local Boy’ as well as more intricate works like ‘Falling’ and this has resulted in the band gaining a cult following of committed fans who support the band on every tour.
Support comes from The Swiines, a Nottingham four piece led by singer and guitarist Scott Bugg (cousin of Jake) whose music takes influence from other northern bands such as The Courteeners and Oasis no less!
Those going to the gig on Wednesday can expect a great night of great tunes from two bands who revel in the live environment.
