Well-known indie boys-next-door Two Door Cinema Club have been building hype via Twitter for days leading up to the announcement for this show – a testament to how rare it is. Having catapulted to fame with their debut album Tourist History in 2010, it’s been some time since the trio from Bangor have graced such a small-scale venue – but in July they’ll be taking a step back from their usual big-name festivals and arena tours to treat a privileged audience (o2 Academy Bournemouth has a max. capacity of just under 2,000) to a one-off show, just days before they head to Suffolk to headline at hipster haven Latitude Festival.
Fans can hope to hear Two Door classics old and new, from ‘Eat That Up, It’s Good for You,’ to most recent release ‘Handshake’, as well as an exciting support set from up-and-comers Circa Waves. With promise from the boys for a new studio album in early 2015, this gig at Bournemouth – followed by various festival appearances this summer – seems to be the last tour riding on the success of Beacon. With so few tickets up for grabs here, it’s likely to be a thrilling atmosphere as a select group of lucky fans get the chance to relive the early, intimate days of Two Door’s success.
