Preview: Alessia Cara at Electric Brixton, London


Alessia Cara is a 19 year old singer-songwriter from Brampton, Ontario in Canada. She began her career posting covers on YouTube which then led to her signing a deal with EP Entertainment Imprint in collaboration with DefJam Recordings.

Her debut single, ‘Here’ was released in April 2015 via DefJam and was determined a ‘must-listen’ by Cosmopolitan, making her first live performance debut on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. The song was later labelled by Complex as ‘one of the best Canadian songs of April’ and ranked by Rolling Stone at number 21 on their list of ’50 Best Songs of 2015′.

Cara released her first EP, entitled Four Pink Walls in November 2015 and was later shortlisted for the BBC Music Sound Of award for 2016 and came in second behind winner Jack Garratt.

Her first UK tour will commence this month, consisting of three key dates in Manchester, Birmingham and Electric Brixton in London on the 23rd.
