The Front Bottoms are a four-piece band from New Jersey with an impossible genre to pin down, but best described as indie rock and pop punk, with trumpets. They formed in August 2007, released their first two albums and an EP, and spent the next few years touring around New Jersey. During this time they also released a 5-song tape, handmade by them and with a limited run of thirty, featuring three songs which ended up on their self-titled album – ‘Father’, ‘Swimming Pool’ and ‘The Beers’.
They signed with Bar/None Records and released their self-titled debut studio album in 2011. After a few line-up changes, they released their second studio album, Talon of the Hawk in 2013, and a 6-track EP Rose in 2014, of early, independent, rerecorded releases. Brian Sella, lead singer, said they were the songs most commonly asked for at shows – it was named after band member Matt’s grandmother (they were her favourite songs) Rosemary, and they have a plan to do a ‘grandma series’. The next one is rumoured to be called Anne.
In June 2015 they were signed to Fueled By Ramen, label for twenty one pilots and Panic! At The Disco. Their third studio album Back On Top was released in September 2015, with the latest work from them being ‘Noodle Monster’ in 2016.
The Front Bottoms are touring throughout the UK and Ireland during November and December. More details can be found here.
