It has been confirmed that Maika Monroe will join the cast of Independence Day 2.
Maika Monroe was the breakout star of last year’s indie action film The Guest (her performance as Anna earned her a coveted place as one of The Edge’s favourite female action heroes). She also led this year’s excellent horror It Follows. As of Monday, she’ll face another seemingly unstoppable killing machine in Independence Day 2.
Roland Emmerich announced her involvement via twitter:

Adding an upcoming name with really good credentials is a smart move. Adding Monroe is genius. This will also be her first role in a (hopefully) big blockbuster.
Independence Day 2 is planned to be released on 24th June, 2016.
