The Voice is coming to the University of Southampton

The Voice UK is looking for young, talented singers and they’ve brought the opportunity to join the hit BBC show to University of Southampton students. Series 5 of the show is looking to grab even more talented people for the experience and you can be a part of it.

On Wednesday 20th May a member from the Voice UK team will be in the Clubs and Societies room on level 2 of building 42 (aka the SUSU building) from 11am to see what talent Southampton has to offer.

To come and meet the team simply email [email protected] to book a timeslot. Spaces are of course limited and what better way to audition than on familiar turf. Applicants under 18 must bring a parent or guardian with them.

This follows 2015 series 4 where Stevie McCrorie was crowned the winner of The Voice UK, beating fellow finalists Lucy O’Byrne, Emmanuel Nwamadi and Sasha Simone to the title during tonight’s April 4 live final. His debut single ‘Lost Stars‘ peaked at number 6 in the UK charts but got to number 1 in Scotland.

This is the perfect opportunity for budding singer/songwriters of Southampton and even further afield to get themselves out there and recognised on national television. This format may suit you more than X Factor which is currently auditioning in West Quay and of course can be accessed on Campus.

To apply directly for the Voice UK go to www.bbc.co.uk/thevoiceuk. You must be 16 or over by the 17th of June and have the right to live and work in the UK.
