Snoop Dogg admits his attitude towards women has changed

In a recent interview with Sky News, legendary Californian rapper Snoop Dogg admitted that his attitude towards women has drastically changed over the years.

Throughout his long and illustrious career, the multi-platinum artist has been known for his controversial lyrics and as a result has been accused by many as being a misogynist, with some of his lyrics being particularly degrading.  However, despite admitting that his views and opinions have changed, he does not regret his past lyrics as he said they were just a result of his ‘training’.

“Definitely, my attitude has changed towards women. I am more sensitive and more vulnerable writing-wise and accepting a woman for being a beautiful person, as opposed to me saying she is a bitch or a whore because that was how I was trained when I first started, so I have no regrets.”

The rapper, who has sold over 30 million albums, said that his change of heart came about due to the love he has for the women around him who are ever present in his life, explaining that they have taught him to live and lead a better life.

“As I grew I fell in love with my wife and started to love my mother, my grandmother and my daughter. I understood what a woman was and I started to write about and express that. Once I figured out there was room to grow and learn and to be a better person, then I incorporated that in everything I was doing. I don’t feel like you can be ashamed or mad about not knowing – if you don’t know, you don’t know.”

Snoop Dogg will be headlining Mutiny Festival at Fontwell Park on 18th July.
