Joanna Lumley has firmed up the speculative discussion surrounding an Absolutely Fabulous film by confirming its authenticity on ITV.
In an interview on the channel’s daytime show This Morning, Lumley confirmed that the script for the film has been written and is now completed, with shooting for the film to begin this October.
When discussing the finer details, Lumley revealed: “We are all there, the same old gang. Lots of people you will have seen in it before, I think we are going down to the south of France to do some of the shooting there.”
“It’ll all be shot on location,” the actress continued. “It is going to be ravishingly funny! Very gorgeous and completely fabulous!”
Absolutely Fabulous originally began on the BBC, with a total of five series running throughout the years between 1992 and 2003. The series was written by Jennifer Saunders, who also starred as the frivolous Edina Monsoon alongside Lumley’s character, Patsy Stone. Special episodes were also aired to celebrate the London Olympics in 2012.
The film is expected to land sometime in 2016.
