Several English artists have triumphed in this year’s Unsigned Only music competition.

The contest, which is geared towards musical artists who are unsigned to a major record label or its affiliates, is based in Nashville, Tennessee. Though the Grand Prize was awarded to a New Zealand duo, (Jared Porter and Kaylee Bell), a few UK artists also came through to achieve similar merits for their musical/songwriting skills.

London-based brother and sister duo, The Luck took second place in the Adult Contemporary category, winning for efforts made on their track, ‘Vertigo’. Meanwhile, six other UK artists were awarded honourable mentions for their contributions to the competition. (Where Fires Are, Martin Kember, The Scheme, Laura Saggers, Lorraine Nash and The Moon Kids.)

The Competition’s founders, Candace Avery and Jim Morgan said: “This year, the winners impressed the judges with their passion, creativity, energy, and artistry. The winners embody the future of music, and we hope that the recognition they receive through Unsigned Only gives them the inspiration and ammunition to keep growing as artists and succeed in attaining their goals.”
