Southampton’s scene-defining club, Junk has launched an exciting new night entitled ‘Not Your Thing.’
The event, which will take place weekly on Saturday evenings, will see the likes of Sante, Sidney Charles, Bicep, Tom Trago and Secondcity visiting the club in the coming months. Described as a “boutique style party with up close and personal events headlined by only the most considered DJs,” ‘Not Your Thing’ is sure to be a great night out for music-lovers.
Speaking about the motivations behind the concept, Lucas from the Junk team said: “‘Not Your Thing’ is built on musical integrity, not commercial hype. It’s designed for music loving people who are looking and listening that little bit harder and for those that want to. Some names will be familiar and some may not be but the focus is solely on talented DJs from established names to future stars. Just trust us…”
Other events happening at the club this Winter include; Junk Presents Fakeblood and Luca Pilato on Halloween, and a very special Watergate party (featuring the likes of Heidi, La Fleur, Metro and Rhymos) on 7th November. Tom Trago and Awanto3 will also visit the venue on 21st November, while Alexis Raphael will be in town on the 28th. A huge party with Secondcity will debut on 5th December, with more special events to be announced before Junk Presents Bean Pearce’s Sex Tapes Tour on Boxing Day.
Junk has been the leading underground club on the south coast for more than 10 years, bringing pioneering acts like Andy C, Caspa and Professor Green to the city. Having won DJ Mag’s Best Small Club award in previous years, the venue is known and loved for “serving up serious music in a not so serious environment.”
