Isiah Medina has released the new trailer for his debut feature, 88:88.
The film is an avant-garde documentary tracking the lives, histories and thoughts of a group of young Filipino-Canadian friends living in the poor side of Winnipeg as they debate physics, philosophize and rap.
Evoking late period Godard and Jonas Mekas, Medina takes an associative, collage-like approach that combines documentary features and fictional re-enactments, and is captured on a combination of HD video, 16mm film, iPhone footage and 8-bit graphics.
The film has played at TIFF Wavelengths and the Locarno Film Festival, but has still not acquired UK distribution.
