We are delighted to announce that The Edge, and members of our own wonderful committee, have received several nominations at this year’s EVAs.
The Excellence in Volunteering Awards recognise students at The University of Southampton who go above and beyond in their voluntary duties within all the different sections of SUSU.
Our input into the coverage of both Black History Month (alongside Wessex Scene and ACS) and LGBT+ History Month (alongside Wessex Scene, SUSUtv, Surge Radio and the LGBT+ society) have been recognised for Student Media Content of the Year.
Three of our most esteemed committee members, Ben Robins (Film Editor), Harrison Abbott (Culture Editor) and Jack Gracie (Head of Design) have also been recognised in this category for their work with James Chadwick and Chris Evans on Reel Opinions – a show which takes to both the airwaves and the small screen to bring you an entertaining insight into the world of film.
Ben has also been nominated alongside this year’s Wessex Films president, Pippa Short for the Cross Collaboration award, in recognition of their innovative dedication to our very own Student Film Festival, which celebrated massive success last month.
Our LGBT+ website, which was specially crafted by our very own Online Manager, Jack Lewin, has also been recognised in the categories for the Cross Collaboration award and the Innovator award.
Our current Editor, Natalie Fordham and her predecessor/current Culture Executive, Rebecca James, have also received Lifetime Membership for their continued dedication to The Edge and SUSU media.
The full list of nominations can be found here and congratulations to all who have been nominated!
