Batman appears in the brand new “Blitz” trailer for Suicide Squad, which was released overnight.
Preparing fans ahead of the film’s August release, the latest trailer sees the rumours that Ben Affleck’s Batman will appear in the film confirmed. The Dark Knight is seen in full pursuit of The Joker (Jared Leto) and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie). The trailer is soundtracked by Sweet’s ‘Ballroom Blitz’.
Affleck made his debut as Batman in this year’s Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, which did well at the box office despite poor reviews. The film is currently the third biggest US release of 2016, behind Deadpool, which took $355m (£249m), and Zootopia with $276m (£193m). Suicide Squad director David Ayer recently claimed that Jared Leto’s take on The Joker is so captivating, it even halted work on the film’s set.
In October, Leto’s Suicide Squad co-star Will Smith revealed that he has never spoken to the 30 Seconds To Mars frontman out of character because he was “all in” as the Joker during filming.
Suicide Squad, which also stars Joel Kinnaman and Cara Delevingne, opens in UK cinemas on 5th August.
