As confirmed by ITV, Victoria will return for another series.
Jenna Coleman, who plays Victoria, and Tom Hughes, who plays Prince Albert, will both reprise their roles.
The opening episode of the docu-drama, based on the life of the Victorian Monarch drew 5.4 million viewers on average when it premiered last month, not including people watching on Catch-Up.
The series will still be written and produced by Daisy Goodwin. She will also continue to write for and act as executive producer for the series. She said: “Even though she reigned in the 19th Century, Victoria is a heroine for our times. In the next series she faces the very modern dilemma of how to juggle children with her husband and her job. As Victoria will discover, it’s hard to be a wife, a mother and ruler of the most powerful nation on Earth.”
