The full schedule for the 2017 BBC Night At The Proms events has been revealed, and includes an evening dedicated to commemorating the work of legendary composer John Williams.
The concert, which is on the 20th July 2017 will celebrate the 85th anniversary of the film score master, and includes performances of his classic themes and scores from Harry Potter, Jaws, Indiana Jones and Star Wars. Williams has had varied levels of involvement in all of these franchises, creating the official themes for all of the above.
Proms Director David Pickard discussed the event, praising Williams’ ‘varied, wonderful scores.’ He continued to add, ‘Will people come dressed as Star Wars characters? I’d be really disappointed if they don’t.’
Disappointingly, Williams will not be able to attend as his age prevents him from taking trans-Atlantic flights.
