It has been confirmed that Foo Fighters are to release a new album this Autumn.
This will be the band’s eighth album and will be the follow-up to Wasting Light, released back in 2011, which reached number one in the US, UK and many other countries.
The news comes after the confirmation of David Grohl’s HBO documentary series, which will see Foo Fighters travel around eight different cities (such as Chicago, Washington and New York) where they record parts of their album in various iconic studios.
The press release claims that: “One song was recorded in each city, every song featuring local legends sitting in, and every lyric written in an unprecedented experimental style.”
Grohl himself directs the series and it will premiere on Foo Fighters’ twentieth anniversary.
