None of Rudimental’s recent releases have quite had the same ‘oomph’ as their very own summer anthem ‘Feel The Love’. The euphoric chorus and saxophones aplenty caused the track to go to number 1 last year, and bagged the London four-piece a Brit award nomination. Since then ‘Not Giving In’ had a video which was cinematically incredible, and ‘Hell Could Freeze’ featured 2013’s most hotly tipped rapper but neither managed to replicate their break-out single’s success.
An attempt to recreate their previous triumph comes in the form of new single ‘Waiting All Night’. Ardent vocals are provided by one of Virgin Records’ newest signings, Ella Eyre. Her voice blasts over Rudimental’s infamous, soaring basslines to formulate something of a drum ‘n’ bass masterclass. Any thirst for ‘Feel The Love’-style brass is more than quenched with this, also accompanied by a whole throng of other instrumentation with the outcome of a deeply rich timbre.
It’s an impressive track which highlights the talents of Ella Eyre, as Rudimental have previously done with upcoming artists like MNEK, Syron and John Newman, but how this track will be received commercially remains to be seen. ‘Waiting All Night’ can be purchased in the UK from April 14th.
Rudimental’s headline tour will begin on April 23rd, with their self-titled debut album being released on April 29th.
