Review: Natalie La Rose feat. Fetty Wap – ‘Around The World’

After the success of ‘Somebody’ featuring Jeremih, Natalie La Rose is back with another club banger – ‘Around The World’ featuring Fetty Wap. The Dutch singer’s second lead single features a chorus with the catchiness of Amerie and the vocal talent of an aspiring Rihanna. The chorus synths and punchy bass make this track wholeheartedly addictive.

However, Fetty Wap lets this track down in an almost comical way. His absence from the music video and his indistinguishable verse adds absolutely nothing to the song. After his successes of ‘Trap Queen’ and ‘My Way’, Fetty Wap’s verse is truly disappointing. The track would work perfectly as a solo by La Rose, with Wap’s verse being replaced by a bridge.

Despite this, La Rose is a refreshing face in R&B, and will undoubtedly continue to rise in success. After all, this is only her second single.

‘Around The World’ is out now via Republic Records.
