Lily Allen’s comeback album, Sheezus, has debuted at the top of the UK Top 40, it was revealed earlier today.
This is Allen’s second album to top the UK charts, with second album It’s Not Me, It’s You reaching number one, but debut Alright, Still just missing out and claiming second-place.
Despite the controversy due to Google Play’s flash sale promotion of the album (which saw it being sold for merely 99p), the album was still eligible to chart.
Lily Allen knocked Paolo Nutini off the top spot after being there for three weeks, causing the singer/songwriter to fall to third place. Taking second place was Gary Barlow’s solo album, Since I Last Saw You, which climbed a staggering 38 places due to the recent BBC documentary, When Corden Met Barlow.
Reigning the singles chart this week is Mr Probz with ‘Waves’, pushing Calvin Harris’ ‘Summer’ off top-spot after just a week.
