Over the last three years, indie rock quartet The Magic Gang have proven themselves to be some of the most effervescently delightful performers around. From supporting Wolf Alice and Circa Waves in their UK tours to playing Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds and Common People – not to mention their own UK headline tour in the spring – they’ve had crowds bouncing along with their infectiously upbeat tunes up and down the country for several years already.
This autumn, they return with another UK headline tour, another chance to catch their incredible music from their incredible debut album played live. Kicking off in Birmingham on September 22nd, it’s their October 2nd date in Bournemouth’s O2 Academy that fans in neighbouring Southampton will likely be most hotly anticipating.
If previous performances are anything to go by, this one is going to be electric. The Magic Gang are natural live performers, their music often sounding far better in person than it does through the crackle of vinyl. They have a real passion for their music that can only be truly felt when you’re there in person but which takes experiencing their music to a whole new level. What I’m saying is: the autumn tour is a fantastic chance to see one of the UK’s most exciting new bands live, and you should absolutely take it!
Expect to hear an assortment of tunes from their debut self-titled album, which reached No. 12 in the UK album chart (and topped the vinyl chart on the first week of its release). From the intimate, confessional ‘Take Care’ to festival field favourite ‘Slippin’ and wonderfully bouncy ‘Getting Along’, the set list should absolutely have you covered for an evening of incredible indie anthems.
Supporting the gang at their Bournemouth gig will be The Orielles and Sports Team, who will be sure to whet your appetite for the main event with their own delightful brands of indie rock.
A limited number of tickets are still available for The Magic Gang’s tour and can be found on their website. The band will be playing Bournemouth’s O2 Academy on Tuesday 2nd October.
