President Obama to appear on Running Wild with Bear Grylls

US President Barack Obama is to appear on the NBC show Running Wild with Bear Grylls.

The president is due to tape an episode with British TV adventurer Bear Grylls during his trip to Alaska, to observe the effects of climate change in the area.

He is not only the first president to appear on Grylls’ show, but is also undoubtedly the most high profile person. Mr Obama is following several other famous figures such as Kate Winslet, Zac Efron, and Ben Stiller who have have been pushed to their limits by Grylls.

Bear Grylls, a skilled survivalist and former British special forces soldier tests the celebrities’ survival skills in remote locations across the world, “pushing their minds and bodies to the limit to complete their journeys.”

This week, Obama will be the first sitting US president to visit the Alaskan Arctic where he, and other foreign ministers, will discuss climate change.
