Amazon has recently announced that the second season of The Man in the High Castle will goosestep onto their streaming service on 16th December.
The series is set in an alternative history in which the Axis powers won the Second World War. This obviously leads to vastly different present day, where the Nazis and the Japanese have joint ownership of the U.S.A and Great Britain. While based on a 1962 novel of the same name, the series has already greatly diverged from its original source material.
Reportedly Amazon’s highest viewed original series, High Castle had its first season come to a shocking conclusion at the end of 2015, and attracted widespread acclaim. Despite this positive reception, the previous show-runner has announced he will only be returning for the first half of the second season. However, fans are still eagerly awaiting some kind of answer to the confusing twist at the end of the first season, and this will presumably be a major plot-point for the new season.
