With its reverb-heavy production and lyrics likening two lovers to fire, ‘Twin Flames’ sounds like the song topping the charts during the apocalypse. The song rides a playful-sounding drum beat, making it almost impossible not to at least tap your foot along. While the falsetto harmonies which typified Klaxons’ earlier work are still here, along with the striking psychedelic imagery we have come to expect (‘a sea of flames/conducted love’), this song seems to continue their progression away from their more dance-based roots. ‘Twin Flames’ is very enjoyable and could win over neutrals as well as entertaining their original fan base.
