I’ve been following Real Estate since their scattered but intriguing self-titled debut, and I have to say they’ve really come into their own on their new LP Days. Fittingly enough, the new single from this album is a perfect introduction to their ever evolving sound, melding their love for laid back lackadaisy with a smooth progression of straightforward guitar pop.
The layers of guitar on this track are simply beautiful, each one processed by a brilliant amount of analog flanger, chorus or tremolo. The bass and drum lines are simple enough, doing just enough for lyrics concerning ones realisation that something he previously considered an afterthought is indeed real.
