‘Six Degrees of Separation’ is the newest single from The Script album #3, in line with The Script’s previous albums. While this new album signalled their desire to move into a different direction, featuring rap and urban tracks, this harks back to ‘Breakeven’ and ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’ – it’s a ballad, and it’s not at all bad. Perhaps, its nothing special, and its certainly not something new from the band, but its pleasing to listen to, and I like the lyrics, particularly the chorus, where it works through the emotions that everyone goes through in a break up, in an interesting way.
I don’t think that this will be a song that goes down as the best that The Script can offer, but as a second single when compared with their first ‘Hall of Fame’, I think it shows what their album is like and gives a true sense of their past as a band as well as the direction they are heading in.
